Dear Borchert Loop Parents,

Welcome to another exciting year at Borchert Loop Elementary! It is an incredible honor to continue serving as the Executive Principal of BLE and to begin our second year together as a campus family. After 25 years in education, this will be my 26th year serving students, and I am more passionate than ever about creating schools where children are known, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Our theme for this year is #GottaUnLockEmAll! At BLE, we believe every student has unique strengths, talents, and potential waiting to be unlocked. Our goal is not only to help students grow academically, but also to develop confident, capable leaders who know that they can accomplish great things when they believe in themselves and work hard.

This year, we will continue to set lofty goals and high expectations for our Borchert Loop Leaders. We will challenge every student to grow at least 1.5 years in reading and math, while placing a strong emphasis on daily attendance, because being present and engaged in school matters. We will celebrate growth, perseverance, goal-setting, and achievement as we work together to help every student reach their next level.

We are also excited to incorporate Childhood Unlocked into our campus culture this year. We believe children need opportunities to learn, explore, create, imagine, move, and simply be kids. Throughout the school day, we will be intentional about creating more opportunities for free play, movement, and meaningful hands-on experiences while reducing unnecessary technology use. Technology will continue to be used when it enhances learning, but it will never replace the experiences children need to grow socially, emotionally, and physically.

At BLE, we know that strong schools are built through strong partnerships. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing high-quality instruction, building meaningful relationships, and creating a safe and supportive environment where every child can thrive. In return, we ask our families to partner with us by prioritizing attendance, encouraging reading at home, supporting learning goals, staying connected with the school, and communicating with us when you have questions or concerns.

As we continue building the culture and traditions of our young campus, I am incredibly proud of what our Borchert Loop Leaders accomplished in our first year and even more excited about where we are headed. Year two is about taking what we have built and unlocking even more potential—in our students, our teachers, and our leaders.
