Musical Arts

Lockhart ISD has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation. This national recognition celebrates school districts' outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students. This award reflects our commitment to growing inclusive, high-quality art education programs that help students unlock their potential -- on stage, in the classroom, and beyond.

Theatre Arts

Lockhart ISD offers an award-winning theatre arts program at the secondary level, with both Lockhart Junior High and Lockhart High School Theatre earning top honors. This program is dedicated to developing creativity, confidence, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. We are proud to extend this same excellence to the elementary level, giving students early opportunities to explore creativity, build confidence, and grow through the arts.

Dance

Lockhart ISD’s award-winning dance program, recognized with several honors this past competition season, continues to enrich students at the secondary level and we are proud to extend those opportunities to our elementary students as well. At the elementary level, this program will be integrated into physical education and supports students by fostering creativity, connecting to culture, and building confidence, while also promoting movement and lifelong wellness.

Visual Arts

For the second year in a row, Lockhart ISD has been named a District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). The district earned this honor by providing a well-rounded education that advocates for and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and build social-emotional learning that connects learners to their community and beyond. Lockhart ISD is among the top 8% of districts in Texas to receive this outstanding honor.
