Lockhart High School art students competed to decorate an ornament for Rep. John Cyrier to hang on the Christmas tree at the Texas Capitol.  The winners are (left to right in photo)  Leah Dionne (10th grade), Kimberly Garcia (9th grade), and Jeyme Zavaleta-Munoz (9th grade).

The ornament will be hung on the Capitol tree this season. Also, it will be featured in a book at the Capitol, featuring all the ornaments representing Texas House districts, with information about the artists.

The ornament also becomes a part of the permanent historical collection of all the ornaments that have been produced since 2009.

We are proud of our artists and grateful to Rep. Cyrier for making it possible for our students to be part of Texas Capitol history.
