Lockhart Independent School District announced the selection of Rebecca Leonard as the new principal of Clear Fork Elementary School. She joins the district this summer.

The search for a principal for Clear Fork was a highly competitive process with a number of highly qualified candidates and two rounds of interviews. Leonard emerged as the standout with 23 years of experience in public education as a classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional coach, and most recently, assistant principal in Hays Consolidated Independent School District. She has also previously worked in Del Valle and Dickinson Independent School Districts.

“The leadership team is very excited to welcome Ms. Leonard to Lockhart ISD,” said Superintendent Susan K. Bohn. “She has a wealth of instructional and leadership experience that will serve the students and staff of Clear Fork Elementary very well. She also has a history of success in building relationships with members of the school community, which will enrich campus culture.”

Regarding her selection, Leonard added, “I am thrilled to join the Lions family. As a Caldwell County resident, and having family members who long ago attended Clear Fork Elementary, it is both a personal and professional honor to be selected to lead this school.”

Leonard earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development at the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from University of Houston - Clear Lake. She holds EC-12 principal certification from Concordia University.
