School Safety
The School Safety and Community Relations Department aims to serve the needs of all Lockhart ISD stakeholders by:
- providing accurate, timely, and frequent communication;
- highlighting the successes of our #LockhartLeading students and staff;
- operating as our own newsroom--we want you to hear news from LISD first;
- engaging stakeholders for feedback to help with district planning;
- building partnerships with community entities for the benefit of our students and staff; and
- providing community education opportunities to the community for Lions of all ages.
We know the foundation of a healthy partnership is trust, and our department works to build and strengthen that trust each day.
Lockhart ISD is committed to providing a secure and supportive environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Through proactive measures, comprehensive emergency planning, and strong collaboration with local law enforcement and community partners, we ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our schools. Our focus is on fostering a culture of vigilance, preparedness, and care to create the best possible conditions for learning and growth.
LISD School Safety Committee
The school safety and security committee provides central coordination of safety efforts and assists with drills and exercises, school safety and security audits, policy development, and training. The committee is made up of school district and community partners that collaboratively provide recommendations to the district’s board of trustees and district administrators. The purpose of this committee is specifically related to ensuring the safety and well-being of the students and staff within the district. Each Texas school district has their own committee so that they can provide feedback specific to the needs of their district.
