Bond 2025
With your support, we can create even more innovative opportunities for students to explore their passions, challenge themselves, and graduate ready for succes
Dear Lockhart ISD Community,
On behalf of Lockhart ISD, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support in the successful passage of Bond 2025. With over 75% of voters in favor, your overwhelming approval of the construction of Middle School #2 and the purchase of land for future growth is a powerful reflection of our shared commitment to students and the future of our outstanding community.
This bond is an investment in students and the long-term success of our district. With your support, we can create even more innovative opportunities for students to explore their passions, challenge themselves, and graduate ready for success—whether that means college, career, or service. By addressing our facilities needs now, you are helping us preserve smaller, student-centered learning environments that foster strong relationships and exemplary teaching.
To our dedicated staff, this bond represents a remarkable vote of confidence in you. Reducing overcrowding and improving learning conditions helps us continue building a district where talented educators choose to stay, grow, and lead. Your impact matters, and this support reaffirms your value to our students and community.
At Lockhart ISD, we are Locked on Excellence, working every day to Unlock Potential in every student while leading with a LockHeart for people. With your continued partnership and support, we are building a legacy of excellence that will benefit our community for generations to come.
With deep appreciation,
Mark Estrada
Superintendent of Schools
Lockhart ISD
On Monday, February 10, Lockhart ISD's Board of Trustees called for a $93.5M bond election with no school tax rate increase for May 2025.
If approved, the Bond would provide funding for the construction of a new middle school with room for an additional 1,200 students across grades 6-8. $1.5M will be saved for future development of other campuses as the district continues its growth.
The school tax rate will NOT increase if the bond passes. Due to new residential and commercial construction, Lockhart ISD is rapidly growing, resulting in increased property values in our district, this bond can be proposed with NO tax rate increase to taxpayers. Individual tax bills may go up due to increased appraised values beyond the district's control.
