Hello! I am pleased to serve Lockhart ISD as the Gifted and Talented Facilitator. This is my second year in Lockhart ISD, having spent the past 21 years as a TAG Specialist in Round Rock ISD. I have been teaching for over 25 years and have taught ESL, 4th and 5th grade. When I moved to Gifted Education in 2001, I knew I had found my home. I consider myself a constant advocate for gifted students and their special needs. I also feel that it is important to help others in this understanding. I have presented staff development on the local, district, and state levels. I am currently serving on the TAGT (Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented) Education Committee. Our task is improving the continuing education of teachers and parents for gifted children. I believe in the alliance of all stakeholders for the successful education of gifted children. With proper guidance, gifted students can reach their full potential and possibly change the world!
When I am not at school, I love spending time in and around the water. I am a scuba diver, boater, waterskier, and even a certified lifeguard! I enjoy traveling with my husband of 32 years and scrapbooking the memories. I have two grown sons; one living in Austin and the other in San Antonio. Since I live in between the two in New Braunfels, I get to see both of them often.
If you have any questions about the Gifted and Talented program in Lockhart ISD, please feel free to contact me. email@example.com. I serve the students at Plum Creek, Bluebonnet, and Alma Brewer Strawn Elementary Schools. My schedule is usually: Mondays and Wednesdays at BBE, Tuesdays and Thursdays at PCE, and Fridays at ABS.
