Hardware

There are 4 to 5 Internet connected computers and
1 printer in every classroom.

The TAG room is equipped with 14 computers, 3 printers,
and a digital projector.

The library uses a circulaton software for checking
out books. Students can access the card catalogue on 5 computers. There
is one computer available with a CD Burner in every classroom.

Every grade level shares a digitial projector and
computer on a mobil cart that can access the Internet and the school server.
The teacher can present whole-group lessons in the classroom using all
available resources

The computer lab has 26 student computers and a teaching
computer with a CD Burner attached to a digital projector. Every class
is scheduled in the lab for 45 minutes every week.

There are 6 digital still cameras and 2 digital video
cameras available for checkout.

Grades 2-5 share a set of Brainchild Learningunits
that can be used for small group math and reading skills practice.

There are three carts equipped with digital projectors
connected to wireless laptops available for checkout in the library.

Our whole campus has wireless connections.
Software

Compass Learning offers a server-based curriculum
with math, reading, language arts, writing, encyclopedias, and graphic
organizer lessons for all grade levels.

Study Island
is a web-based state assessment preparation program and standards based
learning program for third, fourth, and fifth grade.

Other server-based software include- Type To Learn,
Type To Learn3, Accelerated Reader, Wild West Math, Key Skills, Heartsoft
Library, Super Science Show, Keybo, and Sofo Virus Protection.

Each grade level has chosen curriclum based software
that can be loaded on workstations in the classroom or the lab.

Microsoft Office 2003 is loaded on all the
Windows XP computers and laptops.
Human
Resources
-
Navarro, as every campus in LISD,
has a Technology Integration Mentor. The TIM is responsible for
training teachers, troublshooting hardware, loading software, supervising
the computer lab, maintaining the web page, assisting in creating and implementing
technology lessons, acquiring and loading software, and assisting the faculty
and staff in any areas of technology implementation.
