I graduated from Calhoun High School in 1973 and promptly entered the United States Marine Corps in June of the same year. I served six years and was Honorably Discharged in December 1979. After a career in retail, I retuned to college at the age of 39 and, after a stint as a substitute teacher, began my public education career as a paraprofessional. After working at Travis Middle School in Port Lavaca for two years I was named District Attendance Officer. I held this position for two and one-half years until graduating Magna Cum Laude from University of Houston – Victoria with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Special Education certification. I was fortunate to teach in the same room I served as a paraprofessional. I earned my Master’s Degree in Administration from Texas A & M University – Kingsville. I became the Assistant Principal at Cuero High School in July, 2002. The following year I was named Assistant Principal at Palacios High School and subsequently, earned the position as Principal. I assumed the role of principal at Lockhart High School in June, 2005. As a campus administrator I believe in high standards and a commitment to achieve the goals that are before us. As educators we have a mammoth responsibility to our students, their parents, and the community in general. Our responsibility is to provide a safe environment for our students to learn and our teachers to teach. Also, we must work to prepare each student individually to enjoy, not only success at LHS, but success in whatever endeavor that student chooses. I truly enjoy Lockhart and join my wife in thanking all who have so graciously welcomed us to the community. I look forward to many years serving this community as Principal of Lockhart High School.
