I am Laurie Gilcrease and am
the newest addition to the administrative team. I am thrilled to be at
Lockhart High School.
I am originally from Cypress, Texas and graduated from Cy-Fair High School
in 1983. I have a BA in History from Southwest Texas State University and
a MA in Education Administration from Texas State University. Prior to
coming to Lockhart I was Social Studies department head and coach at
Navarro High School and an administrator at Gonzales High School. While at
Navarro, I received the Teacher of the Year honor for the 2002-2003 and
2006-2007.
I am an avid basketball fan and love watching any kind of student
performance. I have a wonderfully supportive husband, Greg, along with two
great kids- Grayson- 16 and Garrett- 13. We live on a farm outside of
Geronimo and have a menagerie of animals, which includes: 2 ferrets, 7
dogs, 3 cats, 4 goats, a horse, and numerous fish.
I look forward to working with the students in Lockhart. I hope to make
their years spent in high school exciting, challenging, and a great
preparation for their life beyond the doors of Lockhart High. With the
Recognized rating from last year- things are only going to get better!
