Attention LHS: Interested
in leadership opportunities and community service and
volunteer opportunities? Well, get involved with Student
Council. Regular meetings will be on Mondays at 6:30 pm
and on Tuesdays at 3:45 pm in room 105. The first meeting is
on Monday, August 30 at 6:30 pm and then on Tuesday after
school at 3:45 pm.

HOSA (Health Occupations
Students of America) is now accepting dues- see Ms.
Hellerud for information. Our first get together is this
Thursday Sept 2 at 3:45 in room 401 to decorate our adopted
lion!

Art Club will have it's
first meeting Tuesday, September 7th in room 703 after
school.

The first HOSA meeting of
the year (for officer elections) will be moved from Sept
14th to Tuesday Sept. 7, 2010 at 3:45 in room 401.

Class Fundraiser: Purchase your Lockhart Lions
sandals now through August 31st for only $15.00 a pair!
Contact a junior class member, Karen Espinoza 557-6714, or
Olga Delgado at 665-2010. Straps are “embroidered”, soles
are screen printed with design. Choose from either flip
flops or slide sandals or order both!

Students, if you're needing a TEA
Verification of Enrollment (VOE) form
go by the front office and sign up no later
than Wednesday of each week. The form will be ready for you to pick up on
Thursday from Mrs. Ortiz. A TEA form is required to obtain a driver's
permit, a driver's license, or license renewal if you are under the age of
18. Students must be in attendance for at least 90% of the days each class
is offered and students must be cleared of all fees and fines before
receiving a TEA form. There will be no exceptions. This information is

No one is allowed to leave campus without
an ID! Remember: only Seniors are allowed to leave campus for lunch!

Students:
Just a reminder that you must wear your student ID and it must be
visible on a lanyard. The ID's are necessary so we know who is on our
campus.

Tutorials
take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 - 8:00 am and from 3:44 - 4:00
pm in all High School classrooms. Teachers stay later and get here
earlier if needed; some teachers tutor during their lunch period.

Students: It is your responsibility to
turn in your note from the doctor or parent/guardian when you return to
school from an absence. If you
do not turn in your note, the absence will be counted as unexcused.
Students who accumulate 3 or more unexcused absences will be issued a
warning letter and if the unexcused absences persist, the student and
parent/guardian will be required to attend truancy court. Students:
remember to turn your notes in to Mrs. Wilhelm as soon as you return
from an absence. Her office is next to the counseling center. Turn this
note in before class starts. You will not be excused from class to go
turn a note in. No one will ask you for your note. It is your
responsibility to turn your note in to the Attendance Office.

Parents: Family Access
is a web-based application that provides parents/guardians direct access
to information such as grades, class schedules, attendance, and
discipline issues for their students. To use Family Access, you must:

as a visitor in the front office and use a computer in the library for
Family Access. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Hilton at

Senior
News:

Attention all seniors!!!!
Today we will be having an informal meeting in Ms. Alan's room (102) after
school to discuss upcoming senior events. Please come with ideas and
input regarding homecoming week. Also listen to announcements for future
meetings.

Seniors - If you didn't get your Senior Portrait
taken yet, come by and sign up outside of Mr. Bell's room to reserve a
portrait time. The photographer will be here Sept 14-16. Sign up before
all the good times are taken.
Athletics:

Volleyball vs. South San at home on Tuesday, August 31. Freshmen
play at 5:30/6:30; JV at 5:30 pm and Varsity at 6:30 pm.

JV/Freshman Football vs. Bellville at home on Thursday, September 2.
The Freshman play 5:00 pm; JV at 7:00
pm.

Varsity Football vs. Bellville (away) on Friday, September 3 at 7:30

Key Club is a community service organization that
strives to
build our home, school and
community. Key Club meets on Mondays at 3:45 pm in
the library.

Student Council meetings will be Monday evenings at
6:30 pm in room 105 and Tuesdays after school at 3:45 pm in room 105.
The first meeting is on Monday, August 30 at

meetings will
