GRADING  Grades are based on effort and mastering the skills being taught. Daily grades are 20%. These are small projects finished in 1-2 days and written work. Project grades are 80%. These are projects that take 3 days or more to complete. I do not give tests, however the project activities are activities that incorporate the skills learned up to that point.

CLASS PROCEDURES

1.      When the bell rings be in your seat.

2.      When I raise my hand please turn, face me, and listen.

3.      While I am talking to the class, stop what you are doing, be quiet and listen.

4.      The class will not be dismissed until the room is cleaned up.

5.      Before class is dismissed push in your chair or stool.

CLASS RULES

1.      Bring supplies to class every day. THIS MEANS AT LEAST A PENCIL

2.      Be in your seat and work when you are supposed to.

3.      Put in your best effort in everything you do.

4.      No eating in class.

5.      Clean up after yourself.

DISCIPLINE  Students are expected to act courteous, well behaved, and show respect to others. Art is not playtime. Art is not recess. This is an academic class just like the core subjects. You are expected to follow the rules and procedures. Failure to do so will result in one ore more of the following options: A call to parents, referral, and meeting with principal.

HOMEWORK POLICY  Students are given plenty of time to complete work during class time.  Working in class allows me to better assess their efforts.  If they are behind due to absence or off task behavior students may be asked to catch up at home.
