I graduated from Lockhart High School in 1979. In 1983, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Texas State University. I received a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University in 2000. In 2004, I graduated with a M. Ed. in Educational Administration. I have received extensive training and hands-on experiences in the areas of bilingual education, gifted and talented education, educational administration, curriculum and instruction, and reading.
