Welcome to Clear Fork Elementary Library!
Our library/media center is one of the fun learning environments of the school.  It is cute and welcoming and houses over 10,000 titles including access to the Internet.  Students attend library on a weekly basis.  We believe that reading is fundamental to learning.  Our students are encouraged to check out books they love and that they will finish.  Each and every day we are building our reading stamina to be life long readers.   Students at Clear Fork Elementary utilize a program called "Accelerated Reader" which is designed to motivate children to read books and demonstrate comprehension through a computerized assessment--read the information below to learn more about AR.  If you would like to know more about our school please visit the
Clear Fork Elementary Home page.

2009-2010 Texas Bluebonnet Books:  It's time to read the new Texas Bluebonnet Books.  Each year the Texas Library Association chooses 20 books for this list.  Third, fourth, fifth, & sixth graders across the state are asked to read, or hear read, 5 of the books and choose their favorite in January.  This year the students at Clear Fork are going to read 5 books AND rate the books on the Book Talk site.   Click here to visit the Book Talk site.

Accelerated Reader:
AR is a nationwide reading program which encourages children to read using motivational incentives.  As students accumulate assessment points, they are rewarded at each level of accomplishment with engraved "dog tags."  The tags are attached to a chain which students will wear on Fridays.  Earning a chain is the first level of recognition.  Grade levels have been assigned as appropriate number of points for each reward level.  For instance, 5th graders have to earn more points than 1st graders to advance through the levels.

Every student in the school is encouraged to participate and parents can help by inspiring their children to read A.R. Books.  Read at home, in the car, on the bus, anywhere or anytime they have a few quiet minutes.

The Clear Fork AR program will run through May 7, 2010.
