Texas Public School Week:
March 22-26 we would like to invite you to come visit

Odyssey:
Our district has purchased new software called
"Odyssey". We are excited to offer this to your child which will
help students to achieve at high levels by addressing key content
areas and accommodating a variety of learning styles. Use the online
based program at home (if you have a computer and the Internet).
Click on the "spaceship" icon at the left to get started. Your
student knows their login information.

Pennies for Patients:
Student Council is sponsoring a great fundraiser! We
are trying to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
program called "Pennies for Patients." Any spare change that is
donated could help save a child's life. Please remember, each penny
counts, but you may also send more than change! This ends March 26.

We are learning to create a spreadsheet using
Microsoft Excel while at the same time integrating our science TEKS
on landforms, specifically volcanoes as well as Math TEKS on
probability and conversions. Students will be given a Math and
Science sheet of instructions and will use the following web site to
learn about volcanoes before beginning the spreadsheet.

One of our science expectations is the water cycle.

"Do Plants Sweat?" to
help them research answers to questions on this topic.

This is an online software program that allows our
students to practice Math skills based on the TEKS. TEKS are
standards mandated by the state. Please go to

login. This is for 3rd-5th grades. The students have been given
their user name and password.
Careers:
3rd-5th grade will be using this site to investigate
careers throughout the year and creating posters, brochures, and
more! Visit

learn more.
The
Lockhart ISD's Nutrition Department is providing parents a
convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit
money into your child's school meal account at any time. This
service also provides parents the ability to view your child's
account balance through a website called MyNutriKids.com. Parents
can print out a copy of their child's eating history report.

Student Physical Fitness
Assessment:
Texas Education Agency is requiring
that 3rd-12th grade students be tested in regards to physical
fitness and you can obtain the
results of the physical fitness assessment at the end of the school
year if you request such information.
