Programs

  • The Six Flags Six Hour Reading Club is part of Read to Succeed educational program designed to enhance the language arts curriculum.  Six Flags has created a program in cooperation with Weekly Reader.  Every student that completes six hours of reading with in the six week period will earn a free aadmission coupon to any participating Six Flags Theme Park in Texas.

  • Book-It for Beginners is an eight-week program sponsored by Pizza Hut that encourages parents and teachers to read aloud to young children in preschool and pre-kindergarten so that they'll develop a love of books and reading at an early age. The students can earn a personal pan pizza twice during the eight week program.

  • Dr. Seuss’ Birthday - NEA or The National Education Association annually sponsors NEA's Read Across America program. This will be the NEA’s seventh year to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday as a part of the festivities. NEA's Read Across America focuses the country's attention on how important it is to motivate children to read in addition to helping them master basic skills.
NEA launched the Read Across America program in 1998. The nationwide reading celebration takes place each year on or around March 3, the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss. Dr Seuss's use of  rhyme makes his books an effective tool for   teaching young children the basic skills they  need to be successful readers.
