Dear LISD Parents and Guardians,


Can you believe it? Tomorrow is the last day of school!


Congratulations to all of our #LISDChampions on a fantastic school year with tremendous growth, amazing achievements, and much to celebrate! Before you head into the summer, here is some important information we would like to share with you.


EARLY RELEASE TOMORROW (May 24)

This is a reminder that students will be release early distictwide tomorrow. Here is a link to information about release times and earlier afternoon bus drop-off times!


FREE SUMMER MEALS

First, LISD is hosting free summer meals for all children, 18 and under, at several locations across our school district. Click here to access information about times and locations. Adults, too, can eat at these locations for a small fee.


LISD SUMMER CAMPS


Summer Enrichment Camps

Build a world with lego bricks? Design a food truck business? Learn to sign American Sign Language? Learn to sew? Yep! Your kiddo has an amazing opportunity to have fun AND keep learning throughout the summer with an impressive menu of summer enrichment camps, many taught by our own LISD certified teachers!

Secure your spot for one of these amazing, affordable campus with just a $50 nonrefundable deposit! Pay the rest the Thursday before the camp starts (By June 7 for camps beginning June 11; By June 12 for camps beginning June 25; and by July 12 for camps beginning July 21)

DR. EUGENE CLARK LIBRARY READING CAMPS

Speaking of summer fun, the Dr. Eugene Clark Library offers FREE reading camps for children from preschool - 6th grade; Teens (7th-12th grade) are welcome to volunteer. The theme will be “Libraries Rock!.” Drop by the library at 217 S. Main to register or call as soon as possible at 512-398-3223. The kick-off party for camp will be June 1st  at 10 am. We would like our students to keep reading all summer!


LISD BACK TO SCHOOL BASH

All parents of students attending school next year can currently register children online. The district launched online registration to improve our services to parents. In addition to registering online, all parents will need attend the LISD Back to School Bash July 25 and 26th at LHS from 7 am -7 pm. There, you will finish the registration process, sign up for bus transportation, learn the name of your child’s elementary teacher, get photos with Lucky the Lion, speak with principals, and so much more! BLUEBONNET TRAILS COMMUNITY SERVICE

Another resource available to Lockhart families is support for children from Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. If you have concerns about your child’s emotional or mental well-being, the 24-hour crisis line you can call for help is 1-800-841-1255. SUMMER SCHOOL

Please note that summer school programming is required by the Texas education Agency for students who are Pre-K and participating in bilingual education, 5th or 8th grade students who did not pass math and/or reading STAAR on the second administration, and high school students who did not pass one or more STAAR End of Course exams. Parents should have already been contacted if this is applicable to your student. If you have questions, please contact:

Finally, Lockhart ISD operates on summer hours beginning June 4. Click here to see when the district office and campuses will be open.
