The Cub House Life Skill Program for Student Parents (Formerly PEP)
Since 1988, the Life Skills Program for Student Parents has assisted many pregnant and parenting students in achieving their educational goal. The Cub House, located on the LHS campus, provides infants through preschool aged children a safe, caring, and stimulating environment in which to develop healthy self-esteem and social skills. The caregivers are constantly and meaningfully engaged with the children and are very skillful in facilitating the children’s interests and engagement in play activities. Opportunities for the children to extend learning through problem solving and experimentation are provided through age and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
The Cub House is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and is also certified through the Texas Work Force Commission’s Child Care Management Services (CCMS) as a Texas Rising Star Provider.
Upon availability of space, employees of LISD may through payroll deduction tuition enroll their children at The Cub House. To place your child on the waiting list, please print and complete the Waiting List Application and return to the< address below. Other links available for your information:
