LISD superintendent honored for completing doctorate of education

The Lockhart ISD Board of Trustees recognized Superintendent Dr. Susan K. Bohn at the Board meeting Monday for her recent completion of a doctorate of education in education leadership from Texas Tech University. Bohn graduated from the program Friday in Lubbock.

In addressing the audience at the Board meeting, Board President Brenda Spillmann recognized Bohn for her contributions as a leader to help mobilize LISD stakeholders to work together to tackle tough challenges and raise the level of expectations for the students and staff. Spillmann noted, “Even as she faced these challenges as a superintendent, she worked diligently on her doctorate because she also has high expectations of herself.”

“I am just one among many LISD staff members pursuing more knowledge, skill, and experiences to better serve our students, staff, and community,” said Bohn.  “I hope that, in this way, together we are encouraging our children and our co-workers to have high expectations for what they can and will achieve themselves.”

Bohn also has three degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, a bachelor’s degree from the Plan II Honors Program, a master’s degree in public affairs from the L.B.J. School of Public Affairs, and a juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law.
