Grab & Go Meals

LISD has made arrangements to distribute Grab & Go curbside pick-up meals during the time of school closure, Monday - Friday. Any child 18 and under is eligible. Students with disabilities age 21 and under are also eligible to participate.

We are pleased to share beginning Monday, April 6th, the district will offer a third meal option for our Lions with dinner, in addition to breakfast and lunch!

Each campus will have a child nutrition staff standing outside of each campus with a Grab & Go curbside pickup for meals* from 11 am - 1 pm each day.  Staff will provide you lunch for the day, a dinner you can heat with heating instructions later that evening, and a breakfast for the next morning. Simply drive up to the pickup site and staff will hand you meals through the car window. (*We previously had two pickups a day--one for breakfast and one for lunch--but to minimize risk of exposure and streamline operations, we have consolidated meal pickups to be once a day with breakfast, lunch, and dinner being provided at once.)

If you need to walk to the campus to pick up meals, you are allowed to do so. Please try to keep a safe distance from others who may be walking up to pick up meals as well--at least six feet.

Curbside Campus Locations (Click below for maps of pick up sites per campus. We previously had pickups at all campuses, but we have reduced pickup sites to the campuses below to streamline operations and minimize exposure.):

Good Friday Meal Option:

LISD will provide meals on Friday, April 10, although the district is closed that day for a holiday. Because of limited staff that date, anyone wishing to pick up meals on that date must drive to Navarro Elementary to pickup meals. All bus routes will operate normally on Good Friday for usual drop-off options.

Bus Routes Meal Drop Offs:

For those living in more rural areas, if you were unable to pick up meals curbside at your child’s campus, our school buses will be driving routes for meal pull stops to drop off food between 11 am – 1 pm during any school day we are closed. A school bus will stop at about 250 designated pull stops and hand out lunches.

We ask that parents please be patient with us as we launch these services. This is the first time the school district has tried this, and while we have been working hard to prepare, we anticipate there could be some hiccups along the way. We will definitely monitor closely to see where we need to make changes and improvements.
