This is a list of possible resources for those impacted by Harvey in our local area. It is not a complete list, and we will continue add resources as we learn about them.


Getting disaster relief for your home


Registering online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov is the quickest way to register for FEMA assistance. If you don’t have internet access, you may register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Disaster assistance applicants who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY, should call 1-800-462-7585 directly; for those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.

Caldwell County Texas Salvation Army

They serve the poor, vulnerable, and people in crisis. The Lockhart-based charity mostly offers basic needs such as clothing, school supplies, and hot meals to the homeless. In some cases, financial assistance is provided. This is a last resort only, but the expenses may be for utilities, rent, medical equipment, and eviction prevention services. The center is at 762 S Main St Lockhart, TX 78644, dial (512) 398-6252.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

They cover Caldwell County.  They provide clothing vouchers for regional thrift stores, prescription medications, cash grants for paying critical expenses, and more. Call 512-395-5005.
