Bread Group
Everyone loves bread.  But this group is so much more.
All flavors of bread, cereals, rice, pasta, and grains
all count as servings for this group.  This group is a great
source of complex carbohydrates.  Carbohydrates give
us energy and they feed our brain cells.  Many people
feel that you should stay away from carbohydrates,
that they'll make you fat.  Actually, they can be low in
calorie and you should eat more of them than anything else.
You can also find lots of B vitamins, iron, other minerals,
 and fiber in this group.  You can find other favorite foods
in this group, such as crackers, muffins, pancakes, tortillas,
How much should I have and how often? 6-9 servings daily
How big is a serving size? 1 slice bread
1/2 c. rice, noodles, grits, or  oatmeal
1/2 bagel or hamburger bun
1 oz cold cereal
3-4 small crackers or plain cookies
1 pancake
