Program Design

LJH's TAG is set up to meet the goals outlined in The State Plan for the Education of Gitfed and Talented students as well as the goals expressed by the District Curriculum Coordinator Janie Wright.
The class has the flexibility to change to meet the needs of all of the students so the format of the program is usually different from one year to the next.

The TAG Program differs from the elementary school that some of you may be used to.  The 6th graders are required to spend 20-30 minutes of their school day in TAG some of them will pull out of their language arts class or math classes.  7th and 8th graders are required to choose TAG as an elective.

Our program is set up to allow students to explore deeper and more complex ideas relating to the topics they cover in their core classes.  Occasionally we will branch out and explore current events that are of major importance.  For example,  the students express a high level of interest in current events such as 911, the olympics and the upcoming election.
