Grading- The student will be graded in the following areas Based on a 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 Grading Rubric.

 

*Class Participation/ Behavior

1.     Absences

2.     Participation in all activities, wearing proper athletic shoes, and exhibiting expected class behavior.  (This includes following all gym and campus rules/procedures).

3.     Journals- All students need a spiral notebook which we use for our daily step recordings (this is apart our new Walk Across America curriculum) This notebook will be used for P.E. only and should not contain assignments for other subject areas.

 

*Grading Scale for Journals:  All students will receive full credit for their journal assignment as long as he/she completes their daily recordings.

 

*Written Concepts

1. Rules 2. Terminology   3. Strategy 4. Safety    

5.Class Project/Research

 

*Skill

Students will be graded by performing various skills using specific cues.

4 = Student performs the skill using all the cues.

3 = Student performs the skill using most of the cues.

2 = Student performs the skill using some of the cues.

1 = Student is showing the beginning stages of learning the skill with constant reminders of all the cues.

0 = Student never participates in skill assessment.

 

* Fitness

Fitness is set on a standard for individual accomplishment and completion.
