I am originally from Seaside, California.
I attended Seaside High School, and I’m a proud graduate of the class of
1993. Throughout high school I played varsity volleyball, basketball,
and softball. Since I come from a family of softball players and
coaches, I chose to continue playing softball while attending the
University of Texas. I graduated with a BS degree in Kinesiology/All
Level Certification (Fall 1997). I began my teaching and coaching career
at Pearce Middle School (AISD). In August 2003, I decided to leave AISD
and join the LISD family, as a 6th grade Physical Education
teacher/coach. Over the past 8 years, I have successfully coached 7th &
8th grade volleyball, basketball, track, and tennis. I am currently
coaching 7th grade volleyball and 7th & 8th grade (girls & boys) tennis.
In the past, before I decided to begin a family, I also coached at UT’s
summer volleyball camps, and an Austin based club volleyball team. I
used to believe that the accomplishment I was most proud of was playing
softball at UT and consistently earning a 3.40 GPA throughout college. I
now know that my most astounding and most rewarding accomplishment is
being a supportive, patient mother. My daughter Imani and my son Eric
are everything I ever dreamed of and more. I know that being a mother is
the most important job that I will ever have in my life.
My favorite quote is “Hakuna Matata” which means “No Worries”.
